Embark on an unforgettable 13-day cultural tour of Ladakh, where you’ll explore its diverse landscapes, ancient monasteries, and remote villages. This immersive journey takes you through the three iconic regions of Ladakh, offering a perfect blend of culture, nature, and adventure.

Your journey begins with a flight over the Himalayas, landing in Leh (3,500m). After a day of acclimatization, you’ll explore Shey, Thiksey, and Hemis monasteries, known for their ancient architecture and spiritual significance. The adventure continues with a scenic drive along the Indus Valley to Alchi, where you’ll visit Basgo Monastery and the historic 12th-century Saspol caves. The following day, you’ll explore the UNESCO-listed Alchi Monastery, famous for its frescoes, before heading to Lamayuru, home to the stunning Lamayuru Monastery perched on a rocky hilltop.

The tour takes you on a hike to Wangla through the Prinkiti La Pass, where you’ll witness stunning mountain scenery and visit the Rinchen Zangpo Monastery. From here, you’ll return to Leh, visiting the Phyang Monastery along the way. The journey continues into the enchanting Nubra Valley, where you’ll cross the world’s highest motorable road, Khardung La Pass (5,680m). You’ll explore Disket Monastery, enjoy a camel safari in Hunder, and visit the charming village of Sumur, known for its ancient Samsteling Monastery.

The adventure then leads to the mesmerizing Tsomoriri Lake, where you’ll witness migratory birds, nomadic settlements, and the tranquil beauty of this high-altitude lake. The journey continues to Tsokar Lake, renowned for its striking turquoise waters and salt deposits, before returning to Leh. The tour concludes with a flight back to Delhi, leaving you with lifelong memories of Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes.

Itinerary

The flight over the Himalayas and the landing in Leh is an adventure in itself and even when you are tired from your long journey, that experience will wake you right up. Our guide is already waiting for at the airport in Leh and will bring you to your guesthouse/Hotel. On the first day you can relax and only relax to better acclimatize to the high altitude. (It is a conscious decision not having planned any activities on the first day, it is crucial for your adaptation to the high altitude!) Overnight : Hotel Meals : BB Elevation : 3500 m

Following acclimatization. visit the upper valley of the indus and the great monastery of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. Shey was the capital kingdom in the 13th century. Continue to Hemis which is the most important monastery of Ladakh on the spiritual plane. It includes under its authority more the 500 monks. Built in 1605, visit the Thiksey monastery, located on the right bank of indus, in about twenty kilometers from leh. This monastery is rebuilt in the 15th century is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, the future Buddha. Overnight : Hotel Meals : BB Elevation : 3500 m

Drive along the valley of the Indus spectacle with a series of trays desert and deep gorges to Nimoo, the crystalline water of the Zangskar river mingle with swirling flow Indus. We visit Basgo monestary also . Arrival in the aftertnoon and climb to Alchi Village Saspol to visit the cave of the 12th century. Nice easy walk in the fields and the village. Back to Alchi. Morning visit the beautiful monastery of Alchi whose frescoes dating from the twelfth century are classified heritage UNESCO world. Then climb to Lamayuru a beautiful winding road to visit a monastery with three important temple (eleventh century), preched on a rock overlooking the village. Many possibilities walking around the village of Lamayuiru. Overnight : Hotel Meals : BLD Elevation : 3500 m

A beautiful day of hiking in terms of scenery. Color changes depending on rocks daylight and contrasts with the green of the village of lamayuru. We climb to the col du prinkiti la (3700 m) After good rest we begin our descent Wangla. Back to Leh. On the way visit the monastery, Phayang built in the early sixteenth century. The beautiful village Phyang is loacated 17 kms from Leh. Free afternoon. Overnight : Guest House Meals : BLD Elevation : 3500 m

Head towards the desert Nubra via the highest motorable road in the world and the collar Khardongla (5680). Nubra valley was an important stop in ancient trade routes between Tibet and Asia Central. Upon arrival, visit the Disket monastery. Overnight : Guest House Meals : BLD Elevation : 3100 m

Spend day over exploring the desert Nubra. around 1 hour of camel safari at Hunder. In the afternoon, visit the monastery and old place of Hunder, One of the most popular important Nubra valley. Overnight : Guest House Meals : BLD Elevation : 3100 m

Morning departure for Sumur, a pretty village green. Visit the monastery Samsteling, consisting of a set 7 and temples, they are more than 150 years old. Then go to the dunes Sumur for hiking. After drive to Wari la. Overnight : Guest House Meals : BLD Elevation : 3810 m

Leave early morning and take the road towards the plate Changtang location south east of Leh few kilometers from Tibet. This area is open to tourist for few years. We exchange complete call décor. Lovers of the out doors will enjoy it! In a summer many nomads come to graze their herds of goats, sheep, horses and yaks on the great plains of the area. Lake Changtang welcome every year many protected species of migratory birds. Arriving at Lake Tsomoriri. Walk along the lake. The sunset over the lake is just gorgeous! During our journey of three days of Changthang, discover the daily life of Changspa, pastoralists in the area. Overnight : Fixed Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4500 m

Early in the morning go to walk along the Lake in the calm and serenity of Tsomoriri. The lake covers an area of about 120 kms. It provides critical breeding site and places of fundamental stop over migration routes of over 40 species of water birds. In afternoon drive to Tsokar lake. Overnight : Fixed Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4500 m

Wake up for a morning walk around the lake Tsokar. The red ocher landscape of mountains reflected in the water turquoise lake. Large salt deposits around the lake make the grassland even beautiful. Back to Leh. Overnight : Hotel Meals : B.B Elevation : 3500 m
