The trek begins in Rumtse and passes through various places like Kyamar, Tisaling, and Tsokar, before reaching Tsomoriri Lake. The journey offers beautiful views and an opportunity to experience the high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh

Itinerary

The flight over the Himalayas and the landing in Leh is an adventure in itself and even when you are tired from your long journey, that experience will wake you right up. Our guide is already waiting for at the airport in Leh and will bring you to your guesthouse/Hotel. On the first day you can relax and only relax to better acclimatize to the high altitude. (It is a conscious decision not having planned any activities on the first day, it is crucial for your adaptation to the high altitude!) Overnight : Hotel Meals : BB Elevation : 3500 m

Morning free. Afternoon excursion to Phyang Gompa. This Gompa is 20 kms from Leh on the right side of Leh-Srinagar road. The beautiful statues and Thankas are worth seeing. Also visit Spituk Gompa which lies on the right side of Srinagar-Leh road about 6 kms short of Leh Proper. Some very interesting Thankas are pride of this monastery. Overnight in hotel. Overnight : Hotel Meals : BB Elevation : 3500 m

After lunch, dirve to Hemis located at the right sight of indus river, largest monastery of Ladakh. Visit the monastery and then drive continue to Rumtse, our starting point for the trek to the lakes. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4095 m

Departure for fifth days trekking, from Rumtse to Lake Tsomoriri, passing by the lake Tsokar. It is one of the most beautiful treks in Ladakh. From Rumtse, we follow the Kyanmar Lungpa Valley, which leads us to the Changtang Plateau. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4383 m

For the first time, we pass the bar of 5000 m. A long climbregular leads us to the pass of Kyamri La (5180 m). We continue our walkalmost without losing altitude to the pass Mandalchan La (5190 m). Let's get to the Changtang Plateau, where we change the scenery completely. Thelovers of open spaces will feast. The landscape is more green with countless species of flowers. Overnight at Tisaling at the foot of Mandalchan Pass. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4800

A steady climb takes us to the Shingbuk Pass, where we see the lakeTsokar for the first time. We bivouac in Pangunagu, a few steps fromTsokar Lake, in the heart of Changtang. In summer, many nomads come to dograze their flocks of goats, sheep, horses and yaks, in the meadows ofthis region. The lakes of Changtang also welcome every year manyprotected species of migratory birds. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4580

We drive along Lake Tsokar, a salt lake where once the nomads came to harvest salt. The red ocher landscape of the surrounding mountains is reflected in the water turquoise lake. It is also an opportunity to observe birds and some animals wild ones such as kyang (wild donkeys). Throughout this day, we have beautiful views of the snowy peaks of the Korzog Massifs and Rupsho. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4650 m

We walk towards the neck of Horlam La, with a backdrop of many peaks exceeding 6000m. Climbs and descents are progressive, and relatively small elevations. We are in a hilly area with great alpine pastures, where the Changpas nomads graze their flocks in summer. We regularly meet nomadic camps. If possible we go to meet them to try tounderstand their lifestyle. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4920 m

We have a long day of walking with the passage of two passes to more than 5000 m of altitude. Thanks to our acclimatization, this day of trek does not represent no particular difficulty, especially as the climbs to the passes are relatively progressive. The view of these two passes is breath taking. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 5000 m

It's the last day of walking that allows us to reach the village of Korzog, located on Lake Tso- Moriri, one of the highest lakes in the world. Lake covers an area of almost 120 km2. This lake is a major breeding ground birds and a must stop flyways of more than 40 water bird species. Korzog is inhabited all year by the Changpas. Overnight : Camp Meals : BLD Elevation : 4540 m

Morning walk along the lake. We visit the monastery of Korzog, then we take the road back to Leh (6-7am). Overnight : Hotel Meals : BB Elevation : 3500 m
