Your adventure begins with a scenic flight over the Himalayas, landing in Leh (3,500m). The first day is dedicated to relaxation and acclimatization, allowing you to adjust to the high altitude. On day two, you’ll explore the highlights of Leh, including the Hall of Fame Museum, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the Magnetic Hill, where vehicles seem to defy gravity. You’ll also witness the spectacular confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers and visit Alchi Monastery, surrounded by a beautiful desert-like landscape.
The journey continues with a scenic drive to Lamayuru, one of Ladakh’s oldest and most picturesque monasteries, offering mesmerizing views of the moonland-like terrain. You’ll return to Leh via the same route, stopping at the Alchi Monastery and enjoying free time in the market for shopping and local exploration.
On day five, you’ll visit the stunning Pangong Lake, driving through the scenic Changla Pass (5,360m). The lake’s crystal-clear blue waters stretch over 120 km, creating a surreal landscape. You’ll enjoy a peaceful outing along the lake’s shores before returning to Leh, stopping at Thiksey Monastery, known for its beautiful hilltop architecture and panoramic views. The tour concludes with a flight back to your destination, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Ladakh’s beauty and charm.
The flight over the Himalayas and the landing in Leh is an adventure in itself and even when you are tired from your long journey, that experience will wake you right up. Our guide is already waiting for at the airport in Leh and will bring you to your guesthouse/Hotel. On the first day you can relax and only relax to better acclimatize to the high altitude. After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing on the Leh – Srinagar Highway. Visit the Hall of Fame (A Museum developed by the Indian Army), Kali Mata Temple & Gurudwara Patthar Sahib (A Gurudwara constructed & maintained by the Indian Army). Proceed further and experience the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity wherein a vehicle starts climbing up the hill when put in a neutral position) and admire the confluence of holy Indus & Zanskar. Today, we will take you to Alchi (Around 76 km west of Leh, south of the Indus River, is the little village of Alchi. It’s one of the most beautiful villages in Ladakh and an ideal place to get a feel for Ladakhi village life. Apart from its blissful tranquillity, Alchi has some of the subcontinent's most impressive collections of Indo-Tibetan artwork). Our first visit would be Monastery of Lamayuru (125 kms from Leh, Lamayuru is a pretty little village surrounded by the rocky Hindukush peaks.Dating back to the 10th century and belongs to Kargyu Pa sect (Red Hat Sect), Lamayuru is not only the most scenic of all Ladakh monastries, but also distinctly different from most others. The extreme aridity of Ladakh gives this temple complex the appearance of being built on the moon. The monastery is officially called 'Yung-dung Tharpa Ling' (a place of freedom). The Gompa houses an impressive image of the 11 headed and 1000 eyed Chendezing, the God of compassion. After an early breakfast, drive to Pangong Lake via Changla Pass (17,586 feet) the third highest pass of the world. Pangong Lake is a salt water body of 120 km in length and 6 – 7 Km broad at the longest point. It is divided by the international border between India & China (1/3 of the lake is in China’s control). Visit the exact location of the famous movie “Three idiots”. Enjoy outing along the banks of the lake and then drive back to Leh on the way visit Thiksey monastery, one the most beautiful monastery in Ladakh called small Lhasa at the summit of the hill founded in 1430.
